Skin Cancer Checks and Management
Dr Thilan Walgamage is a General Practitioner (GP) with extensive surgical skills – he has undergone training over seven years in general surgery, plastic surgery and transplant surgery. Dr Walgamage was an advanced trainee in cardiothoracic surgery before he transitioned to becoming an emergency physician and GP. Dr Walgamage has since focussed on up-skilling his surgical training towards skin cancer medicine and surgery – he holds a Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and a Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery from HealthCert – a training organisation accredited by the Skin Cancer Institute in Australia and New Zealand and recognised by the International Dermoscopy Society. He is also undertaking the Certificate in Primary Care Dermatology by Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Walgamage is happy to provide general skin examinations, minor skin cancer surgeries and advanced skin cancer surgical procedures including skin grafts and flap repairs when clinically indicated.

Queen Street Medical Centre Moruya. Tuesday (afternoon clinic) – skin examinations Thursday (morning clinic) – surgical procedures

Visits to Aged Care Facilities
Banksia Village, Broulee and the Illawarra Retirement Trust, Moruya are both visited by our general practitioners. Full access to your medical record by your GP is available at the facility and our practice nurses conduct comprehensive medical assessments as required.
Each Wednesday from 8.00am to 12.30pm, Doctors Starmer and Goodwin work on a rotational roster at Banksia Lodge.
Our doctors conduct home visits for the immobile, elderly, seriously ill and palliative care patients. Your doctor will discuss the arrangements with you and or your family.
