At Queen Street Medical Centre, we provide various contraceptive options to prevent pregnancy or alleviate symptoms of heavy menstrual periods.
One of these options is Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC), a group of contraception methods that offer highly effective birth control, are long-acting and do not require any action during sexual intercourse. They can also be easily reversed when removed.
Our LARC services include intrauterine devices (IUDs) such as Mirena, Kyleena, and Copper IUDs, which are inserted through the cervix and placed inside the uterus by our specially trained doctors, including Dr Brenton Cole, Dr Lisa Hyde, Dr Les Roberts-Thomson, and Dr Judy Toman.
We also offer the contraceptive implant (Implanon), a small flexible rod placed under the skin of the upper arm by accredited doctors and nurses such as Dr Brenton Cole, Dr Eliza Dally, Dr Lisa Hyde, Dr Les Roberts-Thomson, Dr Polina Smerdova, Dr Judy Toman, RN Ruby Bowler, and RN Ellen McCullough.
Other contraceptive options include the daily oral pill and the contraceptive Depo injection, administered by a nurse every 12 weeks. Our medical staff will work with you to find the contraceptive that best suits your needs. Please contact us at Moruya or Broulee or book an appointment online to discuss your contraceptive options.
