About My Health Record – it’s time to register.
My Health Record is the new name of the national digital health record system – formally known as the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR). This is where your healthcare information can be easily accessible online to health care providers whom you authorise to access the information. So if you’re away from home and require medical care, your essential health info is available to those healthcare providers who may be treating you.
The government is urging all Australians to register – it is not difficult and our staff will be happy to assist you if necessary. When you are registered, your doctor can upload a summary of your medical history so you may wish to discuss this during your next appointment.
For all the facts and benefits go to www.myhealthrecord.gov.au. On this site you can register – you’ll need your Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs card.
